Wolfe County Health and Rehabilitation Center celebrated National Nursing Home Week May 9-13.
This year’s theme was: “It’s a Small World with a Big Heart!” The community was invited to join us on our journey around the world.
The week kicked off with a celebration of Mother’s Day in Paris.
We watched balloons lift off, ate delicious desserts, took selfies, watched mimes, and played a few games that made us laugh!
On the second day of the week, we visited Mexico! We were serenaded by Terry Turner during our Fiesta.
Our therapy staff made colorful sun catchers with the residents and the staff had a wacky flip-flop contest.
Later that afternoon, we enjoyed a siesta.

Day three was our day to visit to Polynesian Islands.
Thanks to Mike Creech of Maintenance, as well as the wonderful staff that works the 2nd and 3rd shift, we were able to have our Luau, despite the gloomy weather we had the prior night.
Day four was our most eventful day of our week.
We celebrated with our own County Fair, just in time before the rain started.
We also had an Employee Appreciation Party, filled with gifts from our friends at My Favorite Things in Lexington!
On the final day of Nursing Home Week, our residents enjoyed lunch at one of our favorites, Kathy’s Country Kitchen in Stanton.
Happy Nursing Home Week to everyone from Wolfe County HRC! We are so very thankful for our residents, staff, families, and community.
